
International Conference on Islam held in Auckland
A three-day International Islamic Conference held at Sheraton Hotel, Auckland successfully concluded on 22nd June 2003. This conference was organized by FIANZ, in association with the Australian Islamic Cultural Centre (AICC) and General Secretariat of the OIC, Jeddah, Saudi Arabia. The theme of the conference was "Islam - The Cultural and Civilisation Dimensions and Human Relations".
Papers were presented by several overseas and local speakers at this Conference on diverse topics including

The success of this Conference is reflected from some of the resolutions passed at this Conference viz.

OIC would open an International Muslim Women Institute for the development of Muslim women.

OIC to facilitate setting up of an Australasian Institute promoting Muslim- Christian Understanding.
|

|
Muslim and Christian leaders will work together for opening an International Institute of Peace in New Zealand.
|

|
Muslims and Christians in New Zealand will have yearly or six-monthly dialogue to promote better understanding amongst themselves.
