Sighting of the Moon for Shabaan 1432H

4 July 2011

Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam

Assalaam Alaykum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatahu

We were expecting to sight the moon for Shabaan on Saturday, 2 July 2011 (corresponding to 29 Rajab), but our extensive enquiries have proved that no moon was sighted on the night of Saturday 2 July 2011. Hence the Hilal Committee of FIANZ would like to advise all members of the community that the month of Shabaan 1432H started on Monday, 4 July 2011.

However if anyone has sighted the moon on the night of Saturday 2 July 2011 please report any sighting of the new moon for Shabaan 1432H to:

Once confirmed we will review the decision of the Hilal Committee.
