Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam

Assalaam Alaykum Wa Rahmatullah Wa Barakatahu

We pray that this letter finds all of you in the very best of health and highest of Islamic spirits.

In view of many conflicting national activities and most importantly the difficulty of getting a convenient schedule for our government stakeholders for the launch of Islam Awareness Week (IAW), and the fact that IAW was successfully observed on some of the campuses this year, it has been decided that we will not mark IAW for this year.

IAW will be held nationally from 27 August to 1 September 2012. The theme for IAW 2012 will remain as Islam and the Environment: Our Rights and Responsibilities.

Brother Hisham Zaoui, FIANZ National Coordinator for IAW, will coordinate the observation of the IAW nationwide. Please give him support to discharge this responsibility on behalf of FIANZ.

We also hope that the community will nominate deserving candidates for the Harmony Awards 2012.
