By the Grace of Almighty Allah SWT, we pray that this reaches you in the best of health and highest Islamic spirits. A'ameen.

On 26 August 2006, FIANZ organised a Hilal Forum which was attended by a vast majority of community leaders (especially from the Auckland region). This Forum provided an excellent opportunity for members of the community to learn and understand the Islamic methodology in determining a new moon, the workings of the Hilal Committee of FIANZ, the concept and mechanism of "Hilal' and other related matters.

However, it is regrettable to note that in spite of this Forum and previous Hilal meetings, there are still concerns and confusions among our community members on the Hilal issue. In view of this, FIANZ has once again decided to host a meeting in Auckland to discuss Hilal issues with a view to reaching a consensus.

Leaders of the community, Imams of various Masajid and centres and office bearers are strongly encouraged to attend this Meeting so that their concerns on Hilal matters can be discussed and addressed in a meaningful manner.

The Meeting will be held on Sunday, 15 April 2007 at Jamie Masjid Al-Mustafa, 26 Mangere Road, Otahuhu, Auckland commencing at 9.30am, Insha Allah.
