Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam

We pray that this letter finds all of you in the very best of health and highest of Islamic spirits.

FIANZ has received confirmed information that the "Golden Country Halal Corned Mutton", canned in Fiji and extensively sold in New Zealand, is not halal. This has further been confirmed by the Fiji Consumer Council and the Fiji Muslim League.

Therefore, we request our community members in Auckland and elsewhere not to consume "Golden Country Halal Corned Mutton". Local Associations and Trusts are also requested to bring this to the attention of your respective wards.
