Dear Brothers and Sisters in Islam,

Assalaam alaikum wa rahmatullahi wa barakatuh.

I pray to Allah (Subhana Wa Ta'ala) that you all are in the best of health and progressing in the path of Taqwa.

In conjunction with "Kia Ora Gaza", an Organisation initiated to raise the awareness of the New Zealanders to the plight of the people of Gaza suffering for the last 60 years, the Federation has launched a fundraising appeal to raise money to assist in the humanitarian relief effort for the people affected by the ongoing humanitarian crisis in Gaza. It is anticipated that with the funds raised, we would be able to organise Kiwi aid and volunteers to join the international land and sea aid convoys scheduled to begin in mid-September 2010.

The Federation requests all members of our community to stand shoulder to shoulder to help out our brethrens in Gaza and donate generously to this worthy cause. Imams of Masajid and Islamic Centers are also requested to make appropriate announcements, particularly during Jumah prayers. Donations are to be directed to FIANZ's Appeal Account as detailed hereunder:

The Federation recommends that the Local Associations coordinate the fund raising at regional level and deposit the money raised into the abovementioned account indicating "Gaza Relief Fund".
